Outdoorsy Yosemite is a longstanding RV campground near its namesake national park (we also sit right on Bass Lake).
And we know that some of our guests want to stay with us without having to drive a rig along the spaces in between.
That’s why we wanted to chat about some alternative ways to camp out with us. These are things like stationary RVs, delivered RVs, and cabins that open the door to the outdoors in ways fit for everyone.
Stationary rentals are a splendid summer option
RVing is a blast — but summer can sometimes be so much of a rush that you just want to get to your vacay spot and start relaxing.
You’re still the outdoorsy type though, so you want something more than a hotel or BNB. Let’s dig in to see the different options for staying stationary while still getting out there.
Stationary RV rentals
This is where RV delivery gets as easy as ordering up a pizza. Over 60% of the RV owners on the Outdoorsy platform offer delivery.
We even have a filter on our site for deliverable RVs.
The benefits of having an RV delivered to you are many. First, you’ll save a bundle on insurance because you don’t have to pay for coverage over the road.
Second, it allows you to get all the benefits of camping without the stress and time of driving a big vehicle to your destination.
And third — your vacation at Bass Lake gets started more quickly. Outdoorsy owners are experienced RVers who can get your camper unhitched and set up in a flash.
That means you can spend your time s’more cooking instead of sewer hose connecting.

RV Delivery
We’re cheating a bit with this one, since you still have the option to drive, but it’s a stationary-ish choice that we felt warranted a mention here.
Let’s say you don’t want to drive a big RV to our campground but you do want to be able to drive it to Yosemite National Park.
In this case, you could still get the RV delivered and set up at Outdoorsy Yosemite so you don’t have to drive a big vehicle a big distance, but you’ll still have a mobile option when you arrive.
And yes, Outdoorsy has a filter for that too.
Glamping — Luxury stays in the outdoors
Glamping (a combo term for glamorous camping) is a way to travel that combines home-like amenities with outdoor accommodations like yurts, tiny homes, luxury canvas tents, and more. Check out this guide for a basic overview of glamping.
And here’s an example of the alternative accommodations you’ll find with us:
Tiny Homes/Cabins

The Tiny House Movement has led to a hospitality trend where many campgrounds now feature this as a stay option.
These spots feature solid amenities with the added benefit of (usually) remote locations. Take Outdoorsy Yosemite for example — our RV resort and campground sits on a private lake 18 miles outside of Yosemite National Park. It features ‘tiny’ homes that can comfortably sleep families with kiddos thanks to built-in bunk beds.
Outdoorsy’s Stays platform also features tiny homes for rent around California.
The beauty of tiny homes is that they allow you to have a unique and fully stocked stay in harmony with nature.
If you’re here, the chances are strong that you crave outdoor connection. But that doesn’t automatically mean you want to drive an RV cross country to find your nature zen. That’s why we have grown up over the years to include stationary summer accommodations that feature all the things and still let you be one with momma nature.
